Home / Our Businesses / Green Steel
At ACME Group, we are committed to create a future where sustainability and strength go hand in hand. Through our Green Steel Initiative, we are transforming the steel industry, one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions globally. This groundbreaking project focuses on significantly reducing the environmental impact of steel production while upholding the highest standards of quality and innovation. ACME Green Steel goes beyond emission reduction—it’s about reshaping industries to actively support a sustainable future. Our goal is to lead the world in green DRI and green slab production, fostering both economic growth and environmental responsibility.
Redesigning the supply chain for green steel
Through the ACME Green Steel Initiative, we are reimagining the way steel is produced.
By leveraging the rich renewable resources in Oman, ACME can produce cost competitive green metallics and green slab to be used by downstream players to reduce their carbon footprint without any heavy investment in upstream facilities like renewable power and green hydrogen

Our sustainable production process
Discover the future of steelmaking through our Green Steel process

Input: High-grade iron ore pellets + hydrogen (H₂) or natural gas (transitional) as reductant.
Process: Low emission reduction of Iron oxide

Process: Liquid steel solidified into slabs.
Efficiency: Near-zero waste vs. ingot casting.

Purpose: Adjusts composition (C, Si, Mn), removes impurities.
Key Step: Adds alloys for desired steel grade

Input: DRI + Steel scrap (up to 20%)
Process: Melts raw materials using renewable electricity

Purpose: Removes dissolved gases (H₂, N₂, O₂) for high-quality steel.
Harnessing the Power
of Green Hydrogen
Our Green Steel process integrates ACME Group’s core
expertise in green energy and hydrogen production.
Using green hydrogen, we replace the conventional coal and
natural gas inputs in the DRI method, drastically cutting
emissions and setting a new industry standard for
environmentally conscious steel production.
